Bernese Oberland

The Bernese Oberland refers to the alpine parts of the canton of Bern in Switzerland. It includes the regions around Lakes Thun and Brienz and the areas of the canton to the south. The valleys sloping down towards the north are in the catchment area of the Aare, which flows into Lakes Brienz and Thun.

Picture-book landscapes, framed by numerous mountain peaks and more than 800 lakes, provide the backdrop for world-class events and unforgettable experiences. Moments of pleasure and happiness merge with living traditions and tangible customs in this idyllic setting.

The imposing peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau impress with breathtaking views, especially from the Jungfraujoch – the “Top of Europe”.
