Travel to Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen. From there, take the Wengernalp or Eiger Express and Jungfrau Railway to the Jungfraujoch, 3454 m. It takes just under 1 hour to walk across the glacier (snow-covered, marked, danger signs) to the Mönchsjochhütte at 3650 m.

The Mönchsjochhütte stands at the origins of the Great Aletsch Glacier and is the highest serviced hut entirely on Swiss soil. Jungfraujoch
Easy glacier hike from the Jungfraujoch to the Mönchsjochhütte
After arriving at the Jungfraujoch, the highest railroad station in Europe at 3454 m, you first enter the Sphinx gallery. Once at the other end, the trail leads over the Jungfraufirn, also known as the Ischmeer. The tour is not demanding, but you quickly feel the altitude of 3500 m, which makes breathing and walking more difficult.
However, the effort is rewarded with a breathtaking view of the Aletsch Glacier. Depending on the time of day and weather conditions, the surface can vary from slushy to icy snow, so sturdy hiking boots with a non-slip sole are essential.
Wooden poles placed at regular intervals mark the wide and safe path. It is extremely important not to leave this path under any circumstances, as there may be crevasses just a few meters away. Otherwise, the tour does not pose any alpine dangers.
After about 1.6 kilometers, you reach a flag that marks the access via the east ridge to the Mönch summit. From there, it is only a short climb to the hut. The hut’s cozy parlor invites you to linger and enjoy.
The way back to the Jungfraujoch follows the same route.
