Hiking country, watchmaking country or winegrowing country are just some of the subjective terms that apply to the Jura-Three-Lakes region.
The region encompasses the canton of Neuchâtel, the canton of Jura and parts of the cantons of Bern, Fribourg and Vaud. It includes the Jura mountains, Lake Neuchâtel, Lake Biel and Lake Murten.
However, the Jura-Three-Lakes region is not only spread across several cantons, the language border also runs through the region. While the towns of Biel and Murten are bilingual, only French is spoken in Neuchâtel and Vaud.
