Swiss folklore show on Harder Kulm
During the season from May to October, the Harder Kulm is transformed into a stage. Swiss folklore is performed here with music and dance. This means you can meet alphorn, organs and yodelers and listen to the concert free of charge.
Restaurant Harder-Kulm
The restaurant, at the “Top of Interlaken” is famous across the nation for its food. As a result there are frequently lines at the Harder Kulm cable car during holidays and weekends. With a capacity for 500 diners there’s always a spot, for everyone. It’s worth mentioning that they don’t take reservations.
Two-lake jetty
Almost everyone appreciates the views that provide us with scenery. A prime example of this is the Two Lakes Bridge, on Harder Kulm. Constructed in 2011 near a restaurant this bridge provides a spot to capture the beauty of the surrounding landscape and fully immerse oneself in its splendor.
On the side lies Lake Thun with Lake Brienz visible, on the left. Nestled in between is the charming town of Interlaken. Towards Lütschental one can gaze upon the peaks of Mönch, Eiger and Jungfrau standing tall between the two lakes. The view is truly breathtaking offering a glimpse of the gorge of Lauterbrunnen Valley. The sunset paints a picture as the final sunlight bathes the peaks of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in a red hue.
Harder Kulm circular trail
This family-friendly circular hike in the Emmental Alps leads along the Hardergrat ridge (1,445 m) around Interlaken’s popular local mountain, the Harder-Kulm (1,322 m), and takes around 1.25 hours.
During the hike, visitors can expect not only a breathtaking view of the Bernese Alps with the majestic peaks of the Jungfrau, Eiger and Mönch, but also the deep blue glow of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz at their feet.
The starting point of the hike is the Harderbahn mountain station. Passing the panorama restaurant, the circular route initially leads up a stony but fairly wide mountain path to the Hardergrat ridge, which is quite steep.
From the ridge, there is a pleasant descent on a narrow path down to the Wanniwald forest. The route then continues to the Elfenweg and finally returns to the Harder Kulm.
The journey to Interlaken’s local mountain, the Harder Kulm, couldn’t be easier. The Harder Kulm funicular railroad takes you from Interlaken to the mountain station in just 10 minutes, making the journey to the summit a breeze.
The Harder Kulm funicular operates from mid-April to November. The ride on the funicular offers breathtaking views over the lakes and into the Bernese Alps along the way.
