Monte Brè: Lugano’s eastern panoramic peak at 925 meters above sea level
Monte Brè standing at 925 meters, above sea level can be found to the east of Lugano on the slopes of Monte Boglia, which reaches 1516 meters. It is a loved spot, for taking in views and is often referred to as Luganos own mountain alongside Monte San Salvatore. Visitors can enjoy vistas of the Bay of Lugano and the majestic Valais and Bernese Alps from this vantage point.

Monte Brè is mostly enveloped by forests harboring a range of tree types including oak, beech, birch and sweet chestnut. Within these woodlands reside a variety of wildlife, like deer, wild boar, badgers and foxes.
Sun-drenched Monte Brè: pine trees, palm trees and more in Lugano
Thanks to its weather Monte Brè stands out as one of Switzerlands spots. On the slope where you’ll find the Lugano neighborhoods of Aldesago, Ruvigliana and Cassarate there’s a variety of Mediterranean plants like pines, cypresses, palms, acacias, oleanders, olive trees and pomegranates. The pleasant climate in Ticino nurtures these plants well since frost is an occurrence at higher elevations.
For over a century now a charming funicular railway has been connecting Monte Brè from Lugano Cassarate through Ruvigliana. This railway makes it easier for people to reach the mountain and soak in its beauty along, with its vistas.
