The Matterhorn Glacier Paradise – Klein Matterhorn – is located at an altitude of 3,883 meters and thus reaches the peak with the highest mountain station in Europe. The “small” Matterhorn is connected to the “big” Matterhorn (4,478 m) by the glaciated Theodul Pass (3,295 m).

On the Klein Matterhorn, the perspective is different to that from the Gornergrat and the Rothorn, and the Matterhorn is given a new face. The south face of the Matterhorn is best seen from here. The summit lift takes visitors to the 360-degree viewing platform of Klein Matterhorn, which offers a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape. The view is often described as heavenly and is a highlight for anyone who wants to experience the majestic Swiss Alps.

The viewing platform in the Zermatt glacier paradise offers a breathtaking view of 38 four-thousand-metre peaks and 14 glaciers.

An absolute highlight is the Glacier Palace, which rounds off the experience perfectly. There is also a Cinema Lounge where you can relax and enjoy the view. Culinary delights are also provided and skiers will get their money’s worth on the wonderful ski slopes. Hiking and biking trails are also available on Trockener Steg or Schwarzsee. The Glacier Palace is not easy to find, as it lies 15 meters below the surface, hidden deep in the wide glacier field between the Klein Matterhorn and the Breithorn. But as soon as you discover it, a fairytale world full of glittering ice crystals opens up with an ice slide, walkable crevasses and various photo opportunities. Just getting to the palace is a spectacular experience that you won’t soon forget.

Ice artworks and accessible crevasse

Despite the icy surroundings, the atmosphere inside the Glacier Palace is anything but cold. A relaxed atmosphere is created with atmospheric lighting and suitable music. There you can admire naturally created ice artworks and marvel at works of art created by artists every year. Venture into the accessible crevasse and walk through ice tunnels. Take a seat on the fur-covered seats and enjoy the fairy-tale surroundings, which glitter, sparkle and shine everywhere.
