Gantrisch Panorama Trail – Gurnigel Bad – Zollhaus

The hike begins at the Gurnigel Bad bus stop, within the Gantrisch Nature Park. Before starting your journey you have the option to take a break at the Berggasthof Gurnigelbad for some snacks. Simply follow the signs to the “Gantrisch Panorama Trail” from the bus stop.

The hiking path takes you uphill past the Gurnigel Berghaus and the Stierenhütte until you reach Selibüelsattel, which marks the point of the hike. From here you can admire a view of the imposing peaks in the Gantrisch range such as Nüneneflue, Gantrisch and Bürgle.

On days your gaze can extend all the way to the Jura mountains Feldberg in Black Forest. Even catch sight of Titlis and Pilatus peaks. A handy panorama map assists, with navigation while cozy benches beckon you to sit back. Savor the scenery.

The route then leads via Süftenenegg to the Rüschen Süfternen bus stop, where you can take an optional detour to the Selital mountain hut. After another ascent, you will reach Gägger, where the fascinating Gäggersteg awaits you.

In 1999, storm Lothar devastated the forest between Schwarzenbühl and Ottenleue, but the Gäggersteg allows you to look out over the regrowing forest and experience nature in its regeneration.

The trail continues along the ridge line with breathtaking views of the Pfyffe. Over the Horbüelpass you descend to Oberi and Undri Hällstett, where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Schwarzsee and the western Mittelland. Via Oberste-Seite, Mittlere-Seite and Unterste-Seite you finally reach Zollhaus in the canton of Fribourg.
