Gantrisch Panorama Trail – Gurnigel Bad – Zollhaus

The hike starts at the Gurnigel Bad bus stop in the impressive Gantrisch Nature Park. Before you set off, you can stop off at the cozy Berggasthof Gurnigelbad for refreshments. From the bus stop, simply follow the signs to the “Gantrisch Panorama Trail”.

The hiking trail leads you uphill via the Gurnigel Berghaus and the Stierenhütte to the Selibüelsattel, where you reach the highest point of the hike. Here you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the majestic peaks of the Gantrisch range, including Nüneneflue, Gantrisch and Bürgle.

On clear days, you can even see as far as the Jura mountains, Feldberg in the Black Forest and the peaks of Titlis and Pilatus. A panorama board helps you find your way around, while comfortable benches invite you to linger and enjoy the view.

The route then leads via Süftenenegg to the Rüschen Süfternen bus stop, where you can take an optional detour to the Selital mountain hut. After another ascent, you will reach Gägger, where the fascinating Gäggersteg awaits you.

In 1999, storm Lothar devastated the forest between Schwarzenbühl and Ottenleue, but the Gäggersteg allows you to look out over the regrowing forest and experience nature in its regeneration.

The trail continues along the ridge line with breathtaking views of the Pfyffe. Over the Horbüelpass you descend to Oberi and Undri Hällstett, where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Schwarzsee and the western Mittelland. Via Oberste-Seite, Mittlere-Seite and Unterste-Seite you finally reach Zollhaus in the canton of Fribourg.

The Gantrisch Panorama Trail hike in the Bernes Midlands offers you an unforgettable nature experience with spectacular views, interesting stops and a fascinating insight into the natural regeneration of the forest after the Lothar storm. Enjoy the diversity of the landscape and be enchanted by the beauty of the Gantrisch region.
