Experience a magical winter adventure on Mount Rigi – the queen of the mountains: sledging, snowshoeing, snow hiking and skiing.
Treat yourself to something very special once again: your body, mind and soul will thank you for it.
So why wander far away when beauty is so close, so tangible? Give yourself the gift of this treat and experience how your inner self blossoms with joy.
The majestic Rigi is located in the Lake Lucerne Region and is easily accessible from all directions. A total of nine different railroads provide access to the imposing Rigi massif, which stretches from Küssnacht in the north to Brunnen in the south.
The variety of winter activities on Mount Rigi is impressive. In addition to snow hiking, snowshoeing and skiing, sledging takes center stage.
Travelers with a GA travelcard or a day pass can use the cogwheel railroad from Arth Goldau or Vitznau at no extra cost. The same applies to the sports trains between Rigi Klösterli and Rigi Kulm. If you don’t bring your own sledge, you can hire one on site. The available sledges are similar to longer Davos wooden sledges, are comfortably padded and the runners have a sliding surface.
The Rigi, known as the Queen of the Mountains, lives up to its name as it offers a truly royal view. All the great lakes of Central Switzerland can be admired from here. The view stretches from the Alpine chain, starting at Säntis to Titlis and Pilatus, all the way to the western Swiss Alps.
From Rigi-Kaltbad, a wide path leads westwards to the Chänzeli viewpoint. From there, a breathtaking view opens up over the basin of Lake Lucerne and as far as Lucerne. Mount Pilatus towers in the background. Queen Victoria of England visited this spot in 1868 and praised the spectacular panoramic view. Immerse yourself in the magic of the Rigi and experience unforgettable moments in this winter wonderland.
