Europes largest waterfall, the Rhine Falls spans a width of, over 150 meters and cascades gracefully 23 meters down into the depths. Standing on the rock amid the waterfall one can witness around 22,200 meters of water per minute flowing over the rocky formations during regular water levels in the Rhine. This water volume experiences variations averaging at 600 m³/s in summer and decreasing to 250 m³/s in winter. The highest recorded discharge rate was 1,250 m³/s in 1965 while the lowest was noted at 95 m³/s in 1921.
Visitors can venture within a distance of 50 meters from the roaring waterfall via excursion boats. Positioned at the heart of the falls is a rock that has withstood natures forces for millennia. Accessible by excursion boats this rock can be reached through an steep staircase with, over a hundred steps leading to its summit. Atop this rock stands a towering viewing platform standing at 30 meters high providing an awe inspiring up view of this natural wonder.
